STC receive two major awards at the recent National Operatic and Dramatic Association’s annual awards ceremony

Solihull Theatre Company has received two major awards at the recent National Operatic and Dramatic Association’s Annual Awards Ceremony for their hugely successful 2010 production of “Jekyll and Hyde”. Attending the ceremony, held on Sunday 3 April at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall, to receive the awards for Best Musical Production and Best Show Programme were members of last year’s production team and the society’s committee: Andrew Wilson-Jenner (Director & Choreographer), Mark Timms (Musical Director), Ian Page (2010 Chair and who played the title role), Deb Free (2011 Chair) and Dan Wainman (Programme Designer).

NODA Awards 2011. Dan Wainman (Programme Designer), Ian Page (2011 Chairman), Andrew Wilson-Jenner (Director & Choreographer) and Mark Timms (Musical Director).

Ms Free (current Chair) said of their success “We are immensely proud of this achievement and commend the huge amount of hard work and commitment from all concerned. The whole team enjoyed rehearsing and performing this fantastic show!”

Local audiences were “overwhelmed” and “mesmerised” by the professional standard of the production and its programme – even comparing it to the West End stage! Local NODA representative, Joyce Eyre commented that it was one of the best productions she had seen in a long time and richly deserving of the awards.
